Community plays a significant and meaningful part of our vision, whether it be our school community, local community and global community.
We are proud to have strong links with our local church in Snarestone, St. Bartholomew's. This includes whole school visits at Harvest, Christmas, Easter and the end of the year. It is at our church each term that we present our Spirit of Snarestone Awards for pupils who uphold our Christian values.
We support a wide-range of charities. Over the past year, these have included:
Macmillan Cancer Research, NSPCC, Ashby Food Bank, Children in Need, The Children's Society, Breast Cancer Awareness and supporting a school in Ghana.
We have strong local links. This has included our choir being involved in the village nativity walk and a carol concert at the Alpaca Farm. Our Gardening Club will soon be helping out with the Snarestone in Bloom committee.
We are always looking to develop global links and have recently supported Burton Albion in the Community by supporting their recent visit to Ghana to help a school and, in particular, improve their library. We donated books and stationery, as well as producing posters to brighten up their walls.
Burton Albion returned to explain about their time in Ghana and how our donations have helped. We were even given some drawings and replies to our letters! Open the powerpoint below to find out more!
We are very proud to be part of the Linking schools project, supported by the St. Phillips Centre, and our Year 2, 3 and 4 pupils are linked with a class at Mayflower Primary School in the city of Leicester. There are lots of exciting things planned this year as part of our link!
