Snarestone Primary Stomps Into Leicester’s Elephant Art Trail for LOROS

Snarestone Church of England Primary School, part of the Rise Multi-Academy Trust, is thrilled to be part of the upcoming LOROS “Stomp Round Leicester,” a spectacular public art trail taking place this summer to raise vital funds for LOROS Hospice.

From Monday 14th July, a magnificent herd of elephant sculptures will stampede into Leicester’s streets, parks, and open spaces, celebrating LOROS’ 40th anniversary in 2025 with 40 unique gentle giants forming a jumbo trail across the city.

Among these remarkable creations will be Snarestone’s very own baby elephant, affectionately named Hope. The design for Hope was created by the talented pupils of Snarestone Primary and beautifully brought to life by Miss King, whose time and expertise have made this project a true school-wide achievement. Hope will be located in the Highcross Shopping Centre, along the John Lewis Bridge, ready to greet visitors and shoppers alike throughout the summer.

As part of their fundraising efforts, Snarestone Church of England Primary School recently held a wonderful coffee and cake morning in support of LOROS Hospice, which was a fantastic success.

Mr Tim Jewitt, Headteacher of Snarestone Church of England Primary School, said: “We are absolutely delighted to support such a fantastic community initiative that helps an incredible local charity. Our children have been so inspired by the idea of Hope bringing smiles to the people of Leicester, and we are incredibly proud of their creativity and compassion.”

Snarestone Church of England Primary School is aiming to raise £1,000 for LOROS through this project. Anyone wishing to support their fundraising efforts can donate online by clickng here.
