Our Church

St Bartholomew’s Church and Snarestone CE Primary School

Snarestone CE Primary School has a long-standing partnership with St Bartholomew’s Church in Snarestone, near Coalville and Swadlincote, dating back to the school’s founding in 1717. This strong connection between school and church remains an important part of our community today.

St Bartholomew’s Church is part of the Woodfield Team of Churches, and together we work to support the spiritual life of our pupils.

Our Church School Connection

We maintain close links with St Bartholomew’s Church through regular shared experiences:

  • Whole-school services at the church for Harvest, Christmas, Easter and End of Year
  • Visits from members of the Woodfield Team to lead Collective Worship
  • Interactive storytelling sessions from Open the Book, where Bible stories are brought to life for children

These opportunities help pupils develop a deeper understanding of Christian values while strengthening our connection with the local community in Snarestone and surrounding areas.

A Strong Community Partnership

Our partnership with St Bartholomew’s Church reflects the values of our Church of England school. It supports pupils’ spiritual development and provides meaningful opportunities to come together as a school and wider parish community.

We are proud to continue a tradition that has been at the heart of Snarestone for over 300 years.
