'Early Worms' is a Phase 1 phonics programme designed for nurseries and pre-schools. It is full of songs, actions and planned activities and can be used by parents at home in preparation for their children starting Anima Phonics in Reception. The letters and sounds in Early Worms can be introduced in any order. This is not a systematic scheme of work and there is no expectation to build on prior knowledge. You are simply raising awareness of grapheme-phoneme correspondences by linking sounds to letters.
